The Job:

You will be fulfilling the role of Information Compliance Manager / Data Protection Officer at our head offices in Winnersh Triangle. In this role you will be an integral member of our European team to assist and lead our compliance efforts across a range of departments and countries in which we operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead our GDPR steering committee in ensuring that our organisation is compliant with applicable laws and regulations across multiple regions
  • Help GDPR steering committee develop and coordinate a risk management and compliance framework for data privacy and protection
  • Work with the compliance team on ensuring ASL develops and maintains controls and processes to meet legal, regulatory and business compliance
  • Act as an independent supervisor, monitoring ASL and its group company’s compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws
  • Carry out internal compliance audits
  • Implement processes to manage compliance efforts across the business
  • Become the company’s subject matter expert on all Privacy and Data Protection laws and regulations across Europe
  • Collaborating with Information Technology to ensure alignment between Cyber Security and Privacy and Data Protection practices
  • Managing complaints investigations into breaches of the act
  • Effectively and accurately draft commercial documents and policies

Requirements:

  • Ideally be certified in CIPP/E and CIPM
  • Expert knowledge of data protection legislation in a professional capacity
  • Commercial Awareness: understands a business’s operations, processes and its key objectives. Can provide practical and commercially viable advice and solutions
  • Decision Making: able to assimilate and analyse information quickly taking all factors into consideration in order to decide on, or recommend, a course of action to take
  • Prioritisation: able to prioritise tasks in terms of level of risk to the business
  • Written and Verbal Communication: able to gather facts diligently from stakeholders; communicate and articulate advice in a candid and credible manner; and create high level summaries, provide conclusions and suggest courses of action to senior management
  • Solid experience in drafting documents and policies
  • Good project management skills and experience
  • Understanding of risk, with the skills and experience to conduct and monitor risk assessments across multiple departments
  • An understanding of the sales and marketing industry would be a distinct advantage
  • The ability to travel extensively and overnights as required

In return a salary of up to £70,000 is on offer, Plus other excellent benefits.
